- RODGERS, ROGERS
posted by Nelda Conner on Thursday, March 6, 1997
- ROGERS, George W. born 1850 in GA. Last name was originally Rodgers. He
married someone named Susan E. ?? after 1850. They had the following children
all born in TX: Matt, George, Lee, Joseph, and Ada. According to a relative
George and Susan were married in Callahan Co., TX; but it could have been Erath
Co. George, Susan, and their children went to California and I found them on
the 1910 census. Since the last child was born in TX in 1904 they must have
left after that time.

- In the 1870's Samuel W. SNELL lived in Erath County and had several children
by his wife, Loretta Ann CROCKETT SNELL. In 1875, she died in childbirth and
was buried on the land that they were farming. Does any one know where this
land is and where her grave is located. I have searched all of the known cemeteries
in Erath County but have not found her last resting place. After her death,
Samuel lived in other Texas Counties and died in Oklahoma. Any help on this
family or the MCDERMETT's that lived in the Chalk Mountain area would be greatly
